Speech and Language Pathologist, Certified Therapeutic Play Therapist
Isuru is a kind, friendly, and creative Speech Pathologist as well as a Certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner, dedicated to supporting children with diverse speech and language challenges and their families. He brings enthusiasm and creativity to every session, engaging children through playful and meaningful activities that make learning enjoyable. With a deep understanding of parents and caregivers, Isuru works collaboratively with families to help them navigate challenges and celebrate progress together.
Isuru holds a BSc in Speech and Hearing Sciences, specialising in Speech Pathology. Originally from Sri Lanka, he has worked in both Sri Lanka and the Maldives since 2019, gaining valuable cross-cultural experience. This exposure has strengthened his ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and families, ensuring that his services are both effective and compassionate.
As a Speech Pathologist with additional training in play therapy, Isuru has a special interest in working with children with speech and language difficulties, Autism, Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), and multi-modal communication needs, including both high- and low-tech AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems.

Isuru follows a neuroaffirming, evidence-based, and holistic approach to therapy. He believes that every child is unique, capable, and inherently wonderful. His sessions are individualized to reflect each child’s strengths, interests, and goals, fostering genuine growth and confidence.
In his child-led therapy sessions, Isuru creates a safe, supportive, and joyful environment where children are empowered to explore, communicate, and learn at their own pace.
With extensive experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams, Isuru works closely with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to care.
As a Certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner, he integrates the principles of play therapy into his speech sessions. Through play-based learning, Isuru helps children build communication skills in a way that feels natural, engaging, and fun.
